As you know,CarsonHigh School is currently in Public School Choice 3.0, and is preparing a plan to address the critical needs of the students.
As part of PSC, we—the members of theAcceleratedTeachingCareerAcademy(or ATCA)—have decided to submit a proposal for aPilotSchool. There are so many great things going on atCarsonHigh School, and we think ATCA is one of them. We have been in existence as an Academy for over 14 years, and we have a core curriculum that is tied both to the State Standards and a Career Pathway (teaching). ATCA has had a great deal of success, and this is born out by, among other things, our test scores, graduation rates, and students who graduate UC/CSU ready.
We hope to use PSC—and the creation of aPilotSchool—to build off what has been successful for us, and to address some of our most critical needs. Towards this end, we are asking for guidance from you. Specifically, are there any initiatives from Local District 8 that you think we should be considering with our school plan?
If possible, we would love to meet with you in person to discuss our plan to meet the needs of our students and community. If you are open to this, would you please give us a time when you are available?
